ND Day
Who We Are
It’s finally time for one of the biggest days of the year, Notre Dame Day, where you can donate to the club, help us continue to thrive, and allow us to improve and do things we’ve never done before. The Notre Dame Running Club provides a fun and welcoming atmosphere for runners of any level to continue their running careers through college. 2023-2024 was an incredible year for the club, with countless club records set and many new events and traditions!
One key highlight of the year was the club’s first ever home meet, the Irish Invitational, where both the men’s and women’s teams took home 1st place.
Later in the fall, the team traveled to Shelbyville, Indiana, where we competed in NIRCA Cross Country Nationals, the biggest and most competitive race of the season. The men placed 11th overall, and the women placed 8th.
The team also had a historic track season this year, with many runners racing in Notre Dame varsity meets, such as the Blue and Gold Invite and the Meyo Invitational.
To cap off a great season, the team traveled all the way to Richmond, Virginia, and competed in the NIRCA Track and Field National Championships, where seven runners became All-Americans and the women placed 8th overall.
Finally, the club was very active socially this year, with a Christmas party, basketball, soccer, and flag football games, movie nights, ice skating, and apple picking.
Why Your Donations Are Important
Starting at 6:42 PM today (April, 23, 2024) you can visit the Running Club ND Day page here. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will help us continue to improve as a club. Next year, we would love to increase the bonds and friendships formed through the club. To do so, we plan on having more social events, such as a trip to the Indiana Dunes, bowling nights, and pasta parties the night before races.
In addition, we would like to increase our range of travel for meets. In previous years, the club has had one overnight meet per year, typically spent in Virginia for a National meet. This year, we expanded a little, traveling to Chicago for the first time ever for the Margaret Bradley
Invitational. Next year, we plan on attending two overnight meets outside the Midwest, since Cross Country Nationals are in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Track and Field Nationals are back in Richmond, Virginia. Donations would help cover the cost of travel, food, and hotel rooms.
We are able to provide such an amazing experience for so many students because of your support. Thank you for your generosity, and Go Irish!
