NIRCA Nationals 2024
On Saturday, November 9th, 2024, it was finally time for the last race of the year, NIRCA Nationals. 11 men and 2 women traveled to Hershey, PA to compete. The women raced a 6k, and after winning the Great Lakes Regional, while they did not score as a team, Alexandria Pena ran 23:46 for 9th place and NIRCA First-Team All American. Audrey Filonczuk ran 27:08 for 113th.
The men placed 21st out of the 37 qualifying teams that raced, with Ryan Fryer leading the team in 27:18 for 52nd place. Shortly after came Owen Donaher in 28:05 for 102nd, Owen Augustine in 28:14 for 114th, Ryan Ilikman in 28:27 for 129th, Zach Wrobel in 29:10 for 173rd, Carlos Jison in 29:35 for 195th, and Julian Stedman in 30:08 for 212th. In the JR/SR/Grad race, Andrew Jitendran ran 33:33 for 146th, James Zola ran 35:08 for 180th, and Jonathan Karr ran 36:23 for 196th. In the FR/SO race, Ryan Soenen ran 29:43 for 63rd.
This was a great performance and the perfect way to wrap up a historic NDRC season. Next up is the start of indoor track at Notre Dame’s Blue and Gold Invite on December 6th, 2024.
